My Story...

Dr. Mark O'Reilly earned his medical degree from the University of Newcastle in 2001. In his early career, he worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and St George Hospital in Sydney. After spending a year in the UK, he returned to Sydney and began training in Oncology and Palliative Care. However, he later shifted his focus to General Practice and Sexual Health. He completed his GP training under the mentorship of David Baker and Marilyn McMurchie at the 407 Doctorspremises before transitioning his practice to East Sydney Doctors. In 2009, he obtained a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine from James Cook University.

In 2010, Mark relocated to Melbourne, where he spent over 12 years working at Prahran Market Clinic. During this period, he became a qualified Sexual Health Physician and served as a Director of the clinic for several years.

Mark is a clinical advisor for ASHM, a member of the Australian HIV antiretroviral guidelines committee, and a part of the RACP Sexual Health Training committee. He regularly attends HIV conferences and advisory boards and is passionate about medical education. He frequently organizes and presents at conferences and events, while also teaching medical students and training GPs in HIV medicine.

His current medical interests include HIV, viral hepatitis, STI treatment and prevention, HIV clinical trials, and the management of chronic health conditions.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys traveling, hiking, and watching SNL clips on YouTube with his partner, friends, and cat. He’s also a food enthusiast who aspires to be more adventurous in the kitchen.
