DR DAVID BAKER

MB, ChB, Dip Med (Sexual Health), DCH

Dr David Baker is a GP and a Director of East Sydney Doctors.

David Baker has worked in Darlinghurst for over twenty years. He has a special interest in Sexual Health and HIV Medicine as well as Addiction Medicine and Hepatitis C. David has completed additional training at University of Sydney – the Diploma in Medicine (Sexual Health).

David is actively involved in medical student training as a senior lecturer (adjunct) at the University of Notre Dame. He also works as a medical adviser to the Australasian Society of HIV Medicine and is a member of many local and national advisory committees in the areas of HIV and hepatitis.

David coordinates a number of research projects at East Sydney Doctors and presents research finding at local and international meetings. He is actively involved in improving health care to marginalised groups including homeless people and people who inject drugs. He is also interested in the treatment of skin conditions and has undertaken training with the Royal Australasian College of Dermatology in surgical procedures. He is experienced in the use of Sculptra injections for facial wasting.

David is closely involved with East Sydney Doctors gallery which holds new exhibitions every 6 weeks including an annual show of patients’ work. Sometimes he rides his bicycle to work and occasionally has a surf (badly). He hopes you will enjoy the relaxed, friendly environment at East Sydney Doctors.
