Clinical Trials for Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Hidradenitis Suppurativa

Have you been diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)?

The main goal of this study is to see if a new experimental treatment improves moderate to severe HS.

If you qualify for the study, you will receive study-related treatment, tests, and doctor visits at no cost to you!

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a skin condition that causes painful lumps around the body, commonly in the armpits and groin region, which can become filled with pus and leak. These lumps can cause the skin to harden, contract or scar even after they heal, which can affect the ways people move and look.

The exact cause of HS is not currently known, but it is thought to be caused by a type of blood cell (called a neutrophil) moving into an area of inflammation in the body and contributing to the lumps that people experience.

Eltrekibart is an antibody (a type of immune system molecule) which attaches to molecules called chemokines. Chemokines help to move blood cells (like neutrophils) around the body. Eltrekibart can change how chemokines work, so that blood cells may not be able to move around in the ways that lead to HS.

Your participation in this research project may help to understand the safety of eltrekibart and any side effects it may cause, as well as whether eltrekibart can help study participants with moderate-to-severe HS.

In order to be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • 18-75 Years of age

  • Diagnosed with HS for at least 1 year

  • Condition has not improved with antibiotics or you have not been able to tolerate antibiotic therapy

If you agree to take part in this research project, and the study is suitable for you, your participation in the research project is expected to last up to about 67 weeks and you will be required to return to the study site for 32 study visits.
